   City of Beaumont

Beaumont is nestled between the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and the lush forests of The Big Thicket National Preserve. We invite you to visit the historical Crockett Street Entertainment District where fine dining and live entertainment go hand in hand. And with the completion of the new Southeast Texas Entertainment Complex, sports fans will be able to sit rinkside and enjoy professional hockey or attend concerts at the largest music amphitheater in the state of Texas. Other improvements like the stunning refurbished Jefferson Theatre, future plans for a downtown Riverwalk and downtown revitalization are shining new examples of a metropolitan area breaking out big time. Of course, there are the good old Beaumont standbys like our world-class performing arts and entertainment options, over a dozen museums, ethnic festivals, historical tours, and the sincere Beaumont hospitality that reflects the best Texas has to offer.

South East Texas Regional Planning Commission

The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) is a voluntary association of local governments that serves an area composed of Hardin, Jefferson and Orange Counties.  SETRPC was founded for the purpose of solving area wide problems by promoting intergovernmental cooperation and coordination, conducting comprehensive regional planning, and providing a forum for the discussion and study of area issues.

Jefferson County

Jefferson County, formed in 1836 and organized in 1837, was one of the original counties in the Republic of Texas. It was named for the municipality that preceded it, which was in turn named for Thomas Jefferson.

Jefferson County is located on Interstate Highway 10 in the Coastal Plain and is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico on the south. To the east the county line is formed by the Neches River, Sabine Lake, and Sabine Pass, and to the north by Pine Island Bayou. A series of lakes extends across the southern part of the county, and beaches overlook the Gulf. The Port Arthur ship canal, on the west shore of Sabine Lake, connects with the Neches and Sabine rivers to provide deepwater ports at Beaumont, Port Arthur, Nederland, and Port Neches. Deepwater transportation and petrochemical industries are among the county's economic mainstays.

  Beaumont Independent School District

The Beaumont Independent School District was established in 1983 through the merger of the former Beaumont School District (founded in 1883) with South Park Public Schools (founded in 1891).  The citywide district encompasses 153.34 square miles and includes more than 20,000 students living in the Beaumont area.
