Become a Vendor

The Purchasing Department's primary responsibility is to procure goods and services. BHA purchases a wide variety of goods and services such as office supplies, stoves and refrigerators, electrical, plumbing, painting supplies, janitorial supplies, vehicles and various construction items. BHA procures general and professional services including insurance, lawn care, pest control, training, legal, architectural and engineering services.

All purchases exceeding $50,000 are carried out through formally advertised Invitations for Bids (IFBs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs). Generally, RFPs are used for professional services, high-tech equipment and computer software, while IFBs are used for most other items that are bought on a low-bid basis.

BHA actively reaches out to Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) to fulfill our policy of promoting opportunities for such businesses.
